Have I changed? (borrowed from my dear, dear friend @ Life Could Be A Dream).
DISCLAIMER: I knew coffee was going to be an issue long before I arrived back in the States!
O! My! The coffee here (KS) and there (CA/CO) and everywhere (the states period).....well sucks!
Seriously, people......life exists outside of Starbucks and you don't NEED to have a ginormous coffee to prove it!
I loved, loved, loved my little (by comparison - 12 oz) skim milk cap from Swerve cafe in Mosman. I would make a special trip at least once a week for it. (if your familiar with the parking situation in Mosman you KNOW it was special).
Admittedly, I traveled with my own coffee (Robert Tims see attached photo) and the very first thing I/We bought upon arrival in Sydney 4 years ago was a DeLonghi Magnifica Fully Automatic Cappacino Machine. It was a grand love affair, lasting 4 years!!
After much debate and heartache we sold it before our Return.
Thus, Leaving a gaping hole in our lives. What to do????
Another fully automatic? French press? Pods? Oh my so many choices!
I have a MR COFFEE @ our rental...he is everywhere, been around for years and was available. I owed it to him to give it a go!
Each day, i had a lump in my throat, an urge to sleep in and an overwhelming desire to explode if this COFFEE situation did not get sorted!
I was consumed- I spent hours laying awake (certainly jet lag) debating what to do about Mr Coffee! One morning I woke up and KNEW it was time for change.
I was dumping him.
Me and Mr Coffee - We just do not have a lot in common. We tried counseling, separation and intervention. Truth be told, I knew it was a doomed relationship before it even began!
So, I have found Mr Nespresso - (must be the George C ads). I am sure there will be bumps in our road....It is after all a new relationship -
I am happy to report So far its love at first taste!
BLove (hubby) thinks Nespresso and I are not long for this world, but to date we are hanging in there! I think he, just can't wait to get Mr N @ the office!
I promise to keep you updated!
xx
I Still miss my Aussie coffee, but the Swiss sure do know what they are doing!

I have to see a picture of your cup...did it make the creamy top (& shamed chocolate on top) or the leaf design?!
ReplyDeleteI think a Nespresso is in my future...
