Tonight, 5 minute parent teacher conferences - that is correct, I did write 5 minutes! No my teacher friends out there - I am NOT joking!!!! This is for our middle school student - for our preschooler we got 15 minutes!
As a teacher - I can not comprehend the concept of a 5 minute time slot -- As a parent, I'm insulted. What can we really talk about in 5 minutes? 5 minutes is nothing but a slap in the face- a big we don't value you or yours, but do remember to send us your fat tuition check on time.
Hang on a minute, maybe this shouldn't be so shocking....Parents here seem to have a real "no worries" attitude about life - Have you seen the news on Justin Bieber's concert being cancelled?
On Friday, we were driving to swim training a few suburbs away - A grandpa was trying to merge into my lane, but he ended up just merging INTO me. No injuries - Just a bit of damage to my VW. The really kicker of this story is - a woman who was outside having a smoke on her balcony across the street - came down from and said, "if this is going to take any longer can you move to the side road - because you are holding up peak hour traffic and causing a disturbance." SERIOUSLY!!!!! Not a can I help, does anyone need anything, is everyone okay? Nope, nothing....MEAN MEAN MEAN PEOPLE!!!!!!!

So on a better note: The weather is absolutely gorgeous!!!! Sunny and chilly during the day and VERY chilly at night. No rain in sight! :)
