Insanity! REALLY! 100 KM in 48 Hours!

Really?  Did I sign up for this?  100 km in 48 hours!  Yes, I have started training!  Today, was a rest day!  Tomorrow - back up the hill and off to body pump class (again).  Sunday's instructor claimed lunges were for sexy legs - I laughed at him.  I am JUST trying to SURVIVE - well and if I get the legs as a result - hey who could really complain?

This year Oxfam Trailwalker Sydney will see 500 teams (that's 2,000 individual participants!) walk 100km on the weekend of 27-29 August, principally on the Great North Walk and the Harbour to Hawkesbury Walking Track in the bushland of northern Sydney.    My first piece of ESSENTIAL equipment - walking poles....Oh, no not to relieve the stress on my lower body, burn more calories, assist in uneven terrain - NO these poles are going to be my first line of defense from snakes and other crazy Australian bush animals.  Ha - On Saturday morning, I was walking "up town" and saw a possum playing hide and seek with me!  GROSSSSSS!!!!!

Yes, there will be some fundraising -  so I will continue to post my trials, animal encounters and funny moments as they come.  Hopefully, a few pictures too!  The entire family is still in awe and shock and frankly so am I- Really who would do something like this?  Okay so 100 km is ONLY 62.137 miles!  Easy As - RIGHT?
